3 Find a membrane roof manufacturer

You should know the following:
These constructions consist of very different components.
No company produces all of these components itself.

There are manufacturers of the membrane and foil as roll goods or other architecture textiles.
There is the manufacturer who cuts the textile / membrane / foil and joins / welds
There is the steelworker, the aluminum processor, the carpentry, the shipyard.
There is the assembly/Installation company.

In some cases, a general contractor commissions all of these companies.
Then there is the structural engineer who plans the project from statics to cutting planning.
The structural engineers know everyone involved in membrane construction. Let us advise you which constellation is right for you.

With our specialist knowledge, we support builders, architects, specialist companies and general contractors in the planning and execution of structures with membranes, foils, ropes, steel structures, aluminum structures, reinforced concrete structures.

With our expert knowhow, we expand the design space for architects and designers. We open up innovative solutions for design and shape.

We support you for all service phases and provide all service phases for these constructions in the part of planning and accompany the execution.

D.h. Wir können einzelne Teilleistungen erbringen oder das komplette Leistungsspektrum vom Entwurf über die Darstellung und Berechnung bis hin zu den Herstellungszeichnungen und Werkstattzeichnungen.

I.e. we can provide individual partial services or the complete range of services from design to presentation and calculation to manufacturing drawings and workshop drawings. We prepare all documents for the approval of the constructions. (verifiable static calculations, books for temporary structures, workshop plans for all constructions, cutting files for cutting plotters.

4 Cooperation between architect and engineer

The design intent related to the structural solution
Is the structure suitable for the design intent?
How can be the structure optimized for design intent?
What effect does the structural solution have on construction costs?

A good design takes form and function into account, whereby "form follows function" often results in a minimal construction.

When searching for the optimal solution, there are several design alternatives close to the physical optimum.

We support you in this work or develop various optimal design solutions for you.

5 Cost of textile constructions - shares

planning costs (3-10%)
material costs (5 bis 50€/m² Spezialgewebe 150€/m²
processing costs (depends on the efford for the details - between 20-150 €/m²)
assembly costs (person x hours + additional tools) depends to the size
cost of the foundation and support structure in connection with the structural solution

maintenance costs (person x hours plus additional working tools)
cleaning costs for translucent materials (person x hours plus additional working tools)

The costs of textile constructions are made up of various components.

If, for example, the tensile loads are anchored in the subsoil for constructions, these anchors are often solid concrete foundation constructions.

What is gained in lightness above ground requires corresponding effort in the building ground.

Therefore, the construction costs determined from the upper edge of the foundation are not initially helpful for determining the costs of the entire construction project.

Depending on the design task, there may be solutions that short-circuit the forces in the roof structure.

6 Tendering for textile constructions - specialist planners

materials
Quality assurance of the materials and the material properties

Since textiles are materials, which have no linear material properties, the elastic and permanent deformations and elongations investigated in the laboratory by means of project-accompanying determination.

The results taken into account in the planning for the layout determination and the prestressing scenarios for the assembly.

This ensures a high quality of execution. Cooperation with the testing institutes is part of our high-quality planning service.
